AAP launches DP campaign: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister Atishi on Tuesday said the party has launched a ‘DP (Display Picture) Campaign’ to celebrate AAP leader Manish Sisodia’s release from Tihar jail after 17 months. The Supreme Court granted bail to the former Delhi deputy chief minister in the now-canceled Delhi Excise Policy case.
Launching the campaign, Delhi minister Atishi said all AAP leaders and workers will use the “Satyamev Jayate” display picture on their social media handles from 3 pm on Tuesday, August 13.
Comparing the AAP to the colonised Indians during the British Raj, Atishi said, “For the past two years, the BJP-led central government has left no stone unturned to harass the AAP-led Delhi government. False cases were filed against AAP leaders. They have not found a single rupee of corruption.”
Atishi said, “Despite this, all the big leaders of the AAP government were put in jail. During that time also, those who fought against the British were put in jail on false charges. Every dictator puts his opponents in jail to silence them. BJP thought that they would break the AAP by doing such dictatorial acts.”

Atishi said the AAP will celebrate Sisodia’s bail. “We want to tell the BJP that no matter how much it harasses us or keeps our leaders in jail for a long time, the truth will eventually come out,” Atishi said.
Atishi said, “Marking this as the victory of truth, AAP is launching Satyamev Jayate campaign. All AAP leaders and volunteers will use Satyamev Jayate display picture on their Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook handles from Tuesday.”
“Satyameva Jayate” is part of a verse from the Mundakopanishad which means “Only truth prevails”.
The Satyamev Jayate DP (display picture) launched by AAP has photos of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Sisodia against a background of party colours. “Satyamev Jayate” is written in Hindi at the top of the DP. Below is a picture of AAP’s election symbol broom.
