Aamir Khan said that he went through an emotional moment where he felt that he has given his entire life to cinema and I am not there for my family.
Actor Aamir Khan has revealed why he decided to quit films. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir revealed that he had taken this decision before the release of Laal Singh Chaddha. He also revealed that it was his children – son Junaid Khan and daughter Ira Khan who convinced him not to leave films completely. Aamir told when he wanted to leave films
Aamir said, “Towards the end of COVID-19, I felt, I was sitting alone thinking about how I have spent a large part of my adult life, starting from the age of 18 when I became a handyman, to now As a result, my focus has been on cinema and movies, which made me realize that maybe I haven’t been doing enough for my relationships – my children, my siblings, my family, whether it’s the ray of light that shines when I talk to her. The marriage took place. Be it Reena, when I was married to her, I felt that I was not with these people during Lala Singh.
Aamir talked about his emotional moment
“I went through that emotional moment where I felt I had given my whole life to cinema and I wasn’t there for my family. So at that time, I went, I felt very guilty, I didn’t feel like I I feel good about what I did, so it was kind of an emotional reaction for me to say this, and I have done a lot of films, have done films for 35 years, now I can focus on my family and personal relationships… So I called my family and said, ‘Listen, I will not do films anymore, I want to spend time with you guys.’ So it wasn’t my reaction, it was an emotional feeling and I’m an extreme person.”
Aamir spoke openly on Junaid’s advice
Aamir also told how Junaid convinced him not to leave films. He said that Junaid explained to him that he was going from one extreme to another. Junaid said, “There is a place somewhere in between where you can live. You can do films and you can live with us.”
Aamir’s last film
Aamir was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha directed by Advait Chandan. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. It is an official remake of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump, which starred Tom Hanks.
