Vivek Agnihotri has warned that Donald Trump’s 100% tariff on films has urged the struggling Indian cinema to unite the film leaders to unite against the possible disaster.
After Shekhar Kapoor, Indian filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, Vipul Amarutal Shah and Anand Pandit have expressed their concern about the recent announcement of US President Donald Trump to impose 100 percent tariffs on films produced outside the United States.

Vivek agnihotri reacts
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri said that this step is a threat to Indian cinema which is already struggling. On taking his X (East Twitter) account, Vivek posted, “Trump’s 100% film Tariff threatened Indian cinema: Trump’s 100% tariff on films is a destructive step. If this is unjust, India’s struggling film industry will completely collapse, any person should be awakened to save anyone.”
Other filmmakers also raise concerns
Director-producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who recently manufactured Kerala Story and Buster: The Naxal Story, shared his view on Trump’s decisions and its impact on the Indian film industry.
“There are 2-3 aspects for this. First, there is not much expansion about how this 100 percent tariff will be.
Producer Anand Pandit, who is known for films like Kul Dhamal, Chehar, The Big Bull, Thank God, also told Annie, “It is a long time to comment on US President Trump’s proposed tariff on foreign films. However, the statement comes when the Indian film industry is watching the theater’s leg deficiency as the priorities of the audience, this concerns increase.”
