Astronaut Sunita Williams, and Buch Wilmore will return to Earth around March 19, 2025.
Sunita Williams and Buch Willmore, who have been riding on the International Space Station (ISS) since September, mentioned their return date while talking to CNN.
The new schedule reduces extended migration in Space of Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore, which officially reached an eight -month mark last week.
Astronauts were initially prescribed to return in late March or early April. This change in the schemes follows NASA and SpaceX’s decision to change the capsule for upcoming astronaut flights.
According to the earlier program, Wilmore and Sunita Williams were to return to ISS after a week in June 2024. He was scheduled to ride in the Starlineer capsule of Boeing. However, technical challenges stopped Starlineer from reaching the ISS, leading to a revaluation for the SpaceX crew dragon capsules.
With the new mid-March returns date sets, the extended mission of Wilmor and Williams will soon end, which will end many challenges and delayed journey.
Sunita Williams logs in a spacewalk over 62 hours
In January 2025, Sunita Williams broke the record for the total spacewalking time by a woman by logging in 62 hours and 6 minutes spacewalk.
NASA said in a post on X, “NASA’s astronaut Sun Williams crossed the total spacewalking time of former astronaut Paigi Whitson by 60 hours and 21 minutes.”
Sunita Williams’ 62 -hour and 6 -minute spacewalk time crossed the record of Pegi Whitson for the total spacewalking time by a female astronaut. Williams now ranks fourth in NASA’s all -time list.
In 2012, during a mission to the International Space Station, Sunita Williams made history by becoming the first person to complete a triathlon in space. He fake swimming using a weight-lifting machine, ran on a treadmill, while exploited to prevent swimming, and fulfilled the unique achievement riding at the space station.
