Planning a trip to Finland? There is an important update to the visa application process that you need to know about before gathering all your documents. The minimum daily financial requirement, which is important for your travel process and budget, has increased from €30 (INR 2,737) to €50 (INR 4,560) from January 2024. With the aim of streamlining immigration and avoiding overstays, the Ministry of External Affairs has made it mandatory to provide proof of sponsorship or residence throughout your stay.
It is important to note that those who will be staying for a shorter than average period will need to show a higher daily balance in their bank to qualify for the visa.
The Schengen visa serves as a permit to enter 23 of the 27 member states of the European Union, as well as Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. These changes are expected to streamline the visa application process.
