A second year student of the college was hit by the train while searching for his earphones on the railway track. The incident took place on Friday near Kodambakkam railway station in Chennai. According to the Times of India report, the Government Railway Police reached the spot and sent him to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
The 19 -year -old student has been identified as Rajagopal. He was a BSc second year student at Nandanam’s Government Arts College and lived in a government hostel in Saidapate. He was a native of Pudhu Sorathur near Chinnasam in Villupuram district.
Rajagopal used to work part -time with a cateror. According to the report, the incident happened when he was going towards his workplace after the college was over on Friday evening. His Bluetooth earphones fell and fell on the railway track. He got off the train at Kodambakkam station to find earphones and went on the tracks to do so. However, he was unaware of the upcoming train and got caught in him and died on the spot, the report said.
At present, the police is investigating the case.
