The newly released family drama Vanvas will soon be available on OTT platforms after a brief theatrical run. The emotional film is based on Deepak Tyagi – an elderly man suffering from dementia, who is abandoned by his sons in Varanasi on his birthday. The film was directed, produced and written by Anil Sharma and produced by Zee Studios Worldwide. It stars veteran actors Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma in lead roles.
“Exile is not just a story – it is a reflection of the feelings we often keep buried within ourselves. Playing this character was like peeling back the layers of my own understanding of family, respect and belonging. This is a film that speaks to the soul, and I believe audiences will find a part of their journey in it,” Patekar said ahead of its theatrical release.
The film reflects the universal dynamics of family relationships and the personal sacrifices made for one’s loved ones. The stellar cast also includes Simrat Kaur and Rajpal Yadav.
When and where to watch Vanvas online?
Details about the OTT release of Vanvas are in short as it completes a massive theatrical run. Recent trends suggest that it is likely to be available online within the next two months – possibly on the Zee5 platform which is part of the same company as Zee Studios Worldwide.
Exile welcome and review
The film released in theaters on December 20 – amid the excitement over Pushpa 2: The Rule and the immense popularity of Mufasa: The Lion King. Exile ended its first weekend just above Crossed the 3 crore mark and ended its first week with 4.5 crore nett in India. It continued to remain on the sidelines after Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John released on Christmas – very few screens were available in its second week.
