Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday, December 11, shared India’s plans to set up its own space station and land an Indian on the Moon in the near future. Jitendra Singh announced that the establishment of this station, named ‘India Space Station’, is likely to begin by 2035.
Speaking at a press conference in Delhi on the achievements of science ministries, Union Minister Jitendra Singh shared India’s ambitious space plans, saying, “We are going to build our own space station, we will do it after the US and the US. Will be among the first.” One or two other countries.”
He said, “By 2035 it will be known as India Space Station and by 2040 we can land an Indian on the Moon.”
The Union Minister also provided an update on India’s first human spaceflight programme, the Gaganyaan Mission. Jitendra Singh revealed that the first Indian astronaut will travel to space under the Gaganyaan mission in late 2024 or early 2026.
Along with this, India is planning to send a human to the ocean floor to explore depths of up to 6,000 meters as part of its deep sea mission.
“And by the end of next year, or maybe 2026, we will have the first Indian human in space, called Gaganyaan, as well as send a human to 6,000 meters deep seabed, which is probably the maximum depth of the ocean . ,” Jitendra Singh said.
The Union Minister also highlighted the significant progress made in satellite launches and India’s growing focus on biotechnology. He said that in the last decade alone, India has launched 397 foreign satellites from Sriharikota and under the Narendra Modi government, India has launched 432 foreign satellites.
“Prime Minister Modi is very supportive of all these measures, which is once again evident from the fact that we are among the first countries in the world to come up with a policy related to bio-economy called Biotechnology E3,” Jitendra Singh added. .
