New Delhi. Honda has announced the launch of battery swap service in India with its new electric scooter Activa e. This service will be available under Honda Power Pack Energy India Limited (HEID), a subsidiary of Honda Motor Company Limited. Battery swap service will start in Bengaluru from February 2025, while in Delhi and Mumbai it will start from April 2025.
On November 27, 2024, Honda launched the Activa e, which is a big step towards the company’s carbon neutrality goal. With this electric scooter, customers will also get the option of “Honda e-Swap” service. Customers can access battery swap stations by registering membership on HEID’s mobile app after purchasing the vehicle.
Expansion plans in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru
HEID plans to expand its network rapidly. By March 2026, 250 battery swap stations will be opened in Bengaluru, 150 in Delhi and 100 in Mumbai. Through this expansion, the company aims to meet the increasing demand of electric vehicle users.
Features of Activa E and QC1
Honda has also introduced two new electric scooters named Activa E and QC1. The Activa E comes with two mobile power packs that provide a rated output of 4.2 kW and a maximum output of 6.0 kW. Its wheel-side motor has been designed for powerful performance.
Talking about QC1, it has a compact in-wheel motor, which gives a rated output of 1.2 kW and a maximum output of 1.8 kW. It has high-frequency LED lights and a 5-inch LCD instrument panel. This panel is capable of showing speed, battery status and other important information.

This technology of battery swapping will provide both time and convenience to the customers while solving the problem of battery charging. This step of the company will help in giving a new direction to the Indian electric vehicle market.
