Delhi University (DU) has recently issued an amendment to Clause 6 of Ordinance IV of the University relating to migration and readmission. According to this amendment, students who are struggling to pass their optional or optional subjects after multiple attempts can now be allowed to change their optional, optional or subsidiary subjects to a new subject.

According to the institute, this amendment will be effective from the academic session 2024-2025. The notification said that under the existing provisions, change in elective, elective or subsidiary subjects in any semester of undergraduate or postgraduate courses was already prohibited.

Now, if students fail multiple times in a particular paper then they can change their optional, optional or subsidiary subjects. Candidates registering for the new subject should note that they must meet all academic requirements, including internal assessments and attendance, and earn the required credits to pass. The purpose of this decision is to provide students with greater flexibility and support in meeting their academic needs through this change.

“If a student is unable to pass the paper even after several attempts, he/she has the option to change the elective or elective subjects or subsidiary subjects in any semester of the postgraduate or undergraduate course, register for a new optional course, complete all the Permission may be granted. Academic requirements including attendance, internal assessment and continuous assessment, and thus earn the requisite credits,” reads the official notice.

The university has further said that the remaining provisions under Ordinance IV will remain unchanged. Further, it has directed all colleges and departments to implement the amended ordinance from this academic year.

Meanwhile, Delhi University (DU) has opened the registration process for the placement-cum-internship drive. The Central Placement Cell (CPC) under Dean Students Welfare, DU is organizing placement and internship drive on 4th December and 5th December.

The Placement and Internship Drive will be held at the Conference Center opposite the Department of Botany, Gate No. 4, DU.
