Date:

New Delhi. The number of petrol pumps in the country has increased so much that sometimes 3-4 petrol pumps can be seen within a kilometer. However, adulterated oil has become a big problem in the country. News of petrol adulteration often comes to light from across the country. In such a situation, questions have started rising in people’s minds regarding the quality of petrol.

Adulterated petrol can damage your vehicle’s engine. However, the common man has no way of testing the oil before consuming it. In such a situation, if petrol has been adulterated, the customer does not even notice it. Therefore, if you have doubts about the quality of petrol, you must test it. Here we are going to tell you a solution with the help of which you can check the quality of petrol pump while standing there.

Why is purity of petrol important?
The purity of petrol not only affects the performance of the vehicle but also affects its engine and other parts. Adulterated petrol can cause problems in many parts of the engine, which can also cost heavily on the maintenance of the vehicle. Therefore, fuel should always be filled from a reliable petrol pump.

Check petrol with filter paper
The easiest and cheapest way to check the purity of petrol is filter paper. It is very easy to use, it gives accurate information about the quality of petrol. For this, put a few drops of petrol on the filter paper. If a stain is formed on the paper, it means that the petrol is adulterated. If no stain is formed then understand that the petrol is pure. If filter paper is not available, white A4 paper can also be used instead, which costs only Rs 1. At the same time, filter paper is available at a price of less than Rs 10.

Estimate the purity of petrol also from its density.
Bharat Petroleum has set the density of pure petrol between 730 to 800. If the density of petrol is more than 800 then it can be understood that the petrol has been adulterated. However, correct testing of density is possible only in the lab. For this, hydrometer, special thermometer and other equipment are required. With the help of these devices, accurate results of the purity of petrol are obtained.
