New Delhi. Two new bikes recently launched in the roadster segment, Triumph Speed 400 and Royal Enfield Guerilla 450, are in the news these days. In this article, we will compare both the bikes so that you can choose the better option, from engine to features.
Triumph has updated its new Speed 400 and launched it in the Indian market, the starting price of which is Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom). It is Rs 7,000 more expensive than the previous model. At the same time, Royal Enfield has introduced its Guerilla 450 in three variants, the starting price of which has been kept at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom).

Engine and Performance:
The Triumph Speed 400 is powered by a 398.15cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine that produces 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. It gets a 6-speed gearbox with torque-assist clutch.
At the same time, Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 has a 452 cc liquid-cooled engine, which produces 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. It has a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.
Hardware and Frame:
The frame of the Speed 400 is based on hybrid spine/perimeter tubular steel, with 43mm USD telescopic front forks with 130mm travel and a rear monoshock with 120mm travel. The wheelbase in its 2024 version has increased to 1386mm, making it 9mm longer than the older model. The handlebar width has now increased from 814mm to 829mm and the height has increased by 12mm to 1096mm.
The Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 is based on a tubular frame like the Himalayan, but its rear sub-frame is different. It has 43 mm front forks and a rear monoshock with 150 mm travel. Talking about the braking system, it has a 310 mm front disc and a 270 mm rear disc brake. This bike runs on 17-inch wheels, with 120/70 section tires at the front and 160/60 section tires at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is available as a standard feature in both the bikes.
FEATURES:
The Triumph Speed 400 has many modern features like LED lighting, DRL, a comfortable long saddle, adjustable levers, Type-C port, ride-by-wire throttle and switchable traction control. This bike is available in four colors – Racing Yellow, Pearl Metallic White, Racing Red and Phantom Black. Its instrument cluster has an analog speedometer and an LCD screen, which provides information like fuel gauge, tachometer, gear indicator and turn-by-turn navigation system.
At the same time, Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 comes in three variants – Analog, Dash and Flash. Its entry-level model gets a semi-analog meter, which shows information like fuel gauge, trip meter and odometer. The top-end model gets an all-digital TFT console, which has the facility of Google Maps and smartphone connectivity.
