NEET PG 2024 date will be announced by next week, says NBE chairman Abhijat Sheth

Days after the Union Health Ministry postponed the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) (NEET-PG) 2024 exam is scheduled for June 23, National Board of Medical Examination chairman Abhijat Sheth said on Tuesday that the SOPs and protocols will be reviewed as soon as possible and the next date of the exam will be announced by next week.

Sheth’s statement comes after a review meeting between officials of the National Board of Medical Examination and the Union Health Ministry, in which the situation and the suggestions received by the government were considered before postponing the exam.

The government has postponed it. NEET-PG 2024 Exams The decision comes amid growing controversy over alleged exam “irregularities” in the NEET-UG exam held on May 5.

“As far as the integrity of this test is concerned, there has never been any doubt about it.” neet pg is concerned. For the last seven years, we have conducted the exams successfully till now… because of the recent events, what has happened is that there were a lot of concerns from the student communities about all these kinds of exams and in response to that, the government has decided to once again ensure that the sanctity and safety of the exam should be maintained. So they have decided to review the SOPs and protocols as soon as possible. We will announce the next due date in the next week…,” Abhijat Sheth said while speaking to ANI.

Further, on the advisories, warnings issued against social media messages and cheaters, he said, “It was for safety; that is why we published the SOPs before the exams, it is all perception, social media is so widespread these days that sometimes it gives wrong messages to students, and we want students to stay on the right track.”

Speaking about the meeting held between NEBMS and Health Ministry officials, he said, “It was mainly related to the review of the procedures of the computer-based examination and the suggestions received from the government. Instructions have also been given by the government to the examination body and Tata Consultancy Services, the technical partner of NEBMS.”

“We definitely work together to make sure even the smallest of deficiencies are taken care of,” Dr. Sheth said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education said that it has constituted a high-level committee of experts to give recommendations on improving the mechanism of the examination process, improving data security protocols and the functioning of the NTA. The 7-member committee headed by former ISRO chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan will submit its report to the ministry in the next two months. (ANI)
