what did ratna say
During the interview, Ratna opened up about her relationship with Supriya and reminisced about her childhood memories. She said: “When we were kids, Supriya and I used to fight… I wasn’t a good sister. I have to admit that I was a big bully, but I’m glad I put all my bullying to rest then I was emotional bullying, which is worse. Fighting is easy, nice, but this emotional bullying is killer, I have apologized to Supriya, she forgave me. Did it. I hope we’re okay.”
On comparisons and beauty standards
Further talking about how she dealt with comparisons with Supriya in the industry, she said, “I didn’t think I was good looking. I was very worried about my teeth. Very thin lips. My eyes are not big. Supriya ki aankhen kitni badi hain (My eyes are not big, see how big Supriya’s eyes are). But you know, it didn’t really bother me because I was focused on developing myself as a well-rounded person. Not someone who looks like X, or Y. The women I hung out with weren’t concerned with what they looked like. There were so many other things we could talk about. The focus was not as intense on how you look, how you dress, how you present yourself.
Ratna and Supriya are the daughters of late veteran actor Dina Pathak. While Ratna is married to actor Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya is married to actor Pankaj Kapoor. Ratna was seen in the web series, Happy Family: Conditions Apply, while Supriya was last seen in Khichdi 2: Mission Panthukistan.
