Are screen guards made from oil? Tempred is available for ₹ 1 in Asia’s biggest phone market, know the reality

But at present there is a lot of discussion about oil based mobile screen guards in the market. Most of the screen guards or tempered ones available in the market are of this type. People are also liking them a lot and are getting similar guards or tempered glass installed on their phone screens.

What is oil screen guard?
When Local 18 team reached Ghaffar Market, Karol Bagh, Asia’s largest mobile accessories market, to find out about this oil-based screen guard. There he talked to a wholesaler named Sahil, who has been running his shop here for about 20 years. He told that the oil screen guard is actually an oil based screen guard. He told that earlier there used to be simple type of screen guards which would get damaged after a few months or would get heavily scratched. Told about the specialty of this screen guard, it does not cause any kind of scratch on it. He said that it is coated with a kind of oil or you can say that it does not get any kind of scratch on it. Now most of the screen guards are of this type and their wholesale price ranges from Rs 40 to Rs 100. At the same time, their price in retail starts from Rs 100.

Reality of 1 rupee screen guard
When Local 18 team tried to know from Sahil about the Re 1 screen guard, he told that all these things are said on social media to fool people. Giving an example, he said that even if it is assumed that a screen guard is manufactured for 1 rupee, by the time it reaches us, it costs 10 to 15 rupees. But now there is nothing like that, by the time the screen guard reaches us it costs around Rs 40 to Rs 50 or even Rs 30. We have to buy the screen guard, which is of good quality. Then in wholesale the rate of all these screen guards goes from Rs 40 to Rs 100 and 150. Whereas these screen guards are available in retail, the shopkeeper sells them by keeping a margin of Rs 30 to 40 on them. He said that even if someone sells a screen guard for Rs 1, then either he has some old goods or he is selling some defective goods to someone.
