In 2023, Chiranjeevi tasted both success and failure with Waltair Veeraiya and Bhola Shankar. The former film also starred Ravi Teja and was a box office success; The latter which also featured Keerthy Suresh received lukewarm response. He is now shooting for the social-fantasy film Vishvambhara directed by Mallidi Vashishtha. The film marks Trisha’s return to Telugu cinema after years.
The filming is currently in progress and expectations are high as Vashishtha’s previous film Bimbisara was a big hit. Several sets were built on a large scale at Annapurna Studios for the shooting of the film. Apart from Hyderabad, the shooting of the film has so far been done in Maredumalli, Nalgonda and Lingampalli.
Initially there were rumors that the film is a sequel to Chiranjeevi’s hit film Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, but Vyjayanthi Movies clarified on X that the rights of the 1990 film are solely with them. Vishwambhara is scheduled to release on 10 January 2025.
