The results of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 will be released on March 16. The examination was conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru and seven IITs. This year around 6.8 lakh candidates had applied for the exam. GATE cut-off depends on many factors. Total number of candidates appearing, availability of seats, previous year trends and difficulty level of the paper are some of the main factors. Based on these, IISc releases cut-off marks for different categories of candidates every year. The cutoff of GATE 2023 was the same as 2022 for branches like BT, EY and XL. The cutoff score for Computer Engineering in 2023 and 2022 was 675.

GATE paper is conducted through computer mode. The paper consists of 65 questions with total marks of 100. GATE scorecard remains valid for three years and can be used for admission in PSUs and taking up jobs. The provisional answer key of the exam was released on February 21. IISc had allowed candidates to raise challenges, if any, till February 25. The scorecard can be downloaded by the candidates on 23rd March. It will be available on the official website of GATE. A total of 6.7 lakh candidates appeared in GATE 2023. Out of them, only around one lakh candidates qualified for the exam. GATE 2022 qualified candidates were 1.12 lakh out of 8 lakh (approximately) candidates.
