Achieving glowing skin is a matter of consistent daily healthy practices, so we’ve enlisted an expert to share a short guide to help you achieve that glowing complexion. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, clinical cosmetologist Dr. Bhagyashree recommended incorporating some techniques into your skin care routine to get and maintain glowing skin –
1. Hydration:
Hydration is the key to glowing skin. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to keep your skin soft and youthful. Include hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin, ceramides in your skin care routine to retain moisture.
2. Balanced diet:
Nutrition plays an important role in skin health. Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Foods like berries, nuts, avocado and green leafy vegetables help combat oxidative stress and inflammation, leading to a glowing complexion.
3. Sun Protection:
Sun damage increases skin aging and dullness. Be sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 daily, even on cloudy days, to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

4. Regular Exercise:
Physical activity increases blood circulation, which helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to your skin. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise most days to maintain a healthy, glowing complexion
5. Exfoliation:
Exfoliating twice a week helps remove dead skin cells and promotes cell turnover. Opt for a chemical exfoliant like alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) or beta hydroxy acid (BHA) for a more even and glowing skin surface.
6. Quality Sleep:
Adequate sleep is essential for skin repair and regeneration. Aim to go to bed early and get about 7-8 hours of quality sleep every night to help your skin’s natural repair processes and keep you looking refreshed.
7. Humidity:
Applying a good moisturizer helps maintain your skin barrier and prevents dryness. Choose a moisturizer with ingredients like ceramides and fatty acids for long-lasting hydration.
8. Stress Management:
Chronic stress can have a negative impact on your skin. Incorporate stress-relief techniques like meditation, yoga or deep breathing exercises to keep your skin glowing.
Consistency is key, so stick to these practices for best results.
