Gaza. The death toll of Palestinians in the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza Strip has crossed 29 thousand. The Gaza-based Health Ministry gave this information.
According to a press statement from the ministry on Monday, Israeli forces have killed 107 Palestinians and injured more than 145 within the last 24 hours, Xinhua news agency reported.
According to the statement, this latest update brings the total number of casualties since the Israel-Hamas conflict began on October 7, 2023 to 29,092 and 69,028 people were injured. It said some victims were buried under debris amid heavy bombardment and a shortage of civil defense and ambulance staff.
8 patients died due to lack of oxygen in Gaza hospital
Palestinian Health Minister Mai al-Kaila said eight patients died at a major hospital in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis due to a lack of electricity and oxygen supplies due to continued Israeli attacks. The Israeli attack on Nasser Hospital worsened the condition of critical patients due to the lack of essential treatment materials, he said in a statement on Monday. He called for international efforts to press for the release of bedridden patients and medical staff.
The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza had earlier said that Israeli forces had attacked the Nasser hospital in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip last Thursday after demolishing its southern wall. The ministry said in a statement that 25 medical staff and 136 patients were still in the hospital without electricity, water, food and oxygen.
