Internet trolls Akshata Murthy’s dress for Pink Ball
A user questioned the color combination of Akshta’s outfit and wrote, “What’s the pink and red and white inside? A smoothie that has lost its desire to blend.”
Someone commented, “Regret this time. Have to be honest. The style statement cannot be praised enough.” Criticizing Akshata Murthy’s jewellery, an Instagram user wrote, “What a jugaad maangtika hai…Still can’t believe she does this or her stylist does all this with the daughter of the Infosys founder.” One person wrote, “🇺🇸… Only she can pull that dress off.”
Someone said, “Oh my God, what are you wearing?” One user quipped, “Whoever suggested that mehendi design could be her bindi is her enemy in disguise.” Another user suggested, “Please fire your stylist!”
One user compared Akshata’s dress to a curtain and wrote, “We have similar curtains in our house, haha,” while another compared it to a bath towel, adding, “I thought she was a fashion designer. Her dress looks like a bath towel wrapped around her.”
What did Akshata Murthy wear to the Pink Ball?
Akshata’s silk strapless, pink and red striped column dress featured a convex cut neckline, figure-hugging silhouette and ankle-length hem. She paired the outfit with a gold maang tikka (which got a lot of criticism online), an embellished silver polti bag, earrings, bracelets and red pointed heels adorned with a bow.
She styled the ensemble with center-parted loose hair, and finally, for glam, she chose a deep wine red lip shade, mascara-laden lashes, feathered eyebrows, blush-tinted cheeks, glitter highlighter, and a dewy base.
Meanwhile, Akshata expressed her happiness of attending the ball by sharing pictures on Instagram. “Last night we had the pleasure of attending the first Pink Ball at the @britishmuseum. It was an extraordinary celebration of culture that highlighted how important museums are as custodians of our past as well as champions of discovery,” she wrote.
