The festival of Diwali is celebrated with great pomp in India. But now this festival of lights is being celebrated all over the world. Wherever Indians live, they do not forget to celebrate it.

Singapore – Little India sparkles: Singapore’s ‘Little India’ area shines like gold during Diwali. The atmosphere becomes magical with the colorful lights on the streets, huge archways and the aroma of traditional sweets. The government also celebrates it like a national festival.

Trafalgar Square’s Diwali: London’s Trafalgar Square is filled with thousands of people every year on Diwali. Here there is a wonderful confluence of Bollywood dance, bhajan, yoga and food stalls. The British government also officially supports this event.

Fiji – Like National Festival: Fiji has a large population of people of Indian origin, hence Diwali is a national holiday here. The entire country sparkles with lights and Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians all celebrate it together.

Mauritius – Lights of the Indian Ocean: In Mauritius, Diwali is celebrated throughout the country as ‘Festival of Lights’. Rows of lamps are decorated from government offices to beach resorts. Distribution of sweets and fireworks are the special identity of this place.

Nepal – Famous as ‘Tihar’: In Nepal, Diwali is called Tihar. It is a five-day festival in which dogs, cows and brothers are worshipped. The rangoli and lamp decorations here are considered more beautiful than those in India.

Trinidad and Tobago – Light of the Caribbean: Here Diwali is not just an Indian festival, it is a festival of the entire country. The entire Caribbean region is filled with decorations, music and traditional food. The government also gives special leave.

United States – Diwali to the White House: In the US, Diwali lights are a sight to behold in New York, New Jersey, and California. Diwali is also celebrated in the White House – which shows the influence of the Indian community.
