External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday called Pakistan ‘Terristan’, making a scathing attack on Pakistan in Brussels. Along with this, he appealed to the international community to adopt a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism and nuclear threats. At a joint press conference with the European Union’s foreign affairs and security policy head Kaza Kailas, Jaishankar said that the current situation should not be seen as a dispute between the two countries, but should be seen as a response against India’s terrorism.
Never need to bow down to nuclear threats
He said that there is a need for global cooperation against terrorism and at the same time there is no need to bow down to nuclear threats. Jaishankar said, ‘We strongly believe that there should be no tolerance for any kind of terrorism. In this context, it is also necessary that we should never bend in front of nuclear blackmailing. This is a common and associated crisis for the whole world, and strong cooperation and understanding between the international community is necessary on this.
India’s answer will be even more rigorous…
Earlier, Jaishankar warned in a conversation with the US news website Politico that if such a barbaric attack on India took place in future, India’s reaction would be even more rigid. He said, ‘If you repeat barbaric acts like April, then it will definitely get an answer, and that answer will be focused on terrorist organizations and their leadership system.’ He said that India’s action will not be bound by borders. ‘We don’t mind how many they are inside Pakistan, if needed, we will go inside and take action.’
Jaishankar said that even though terrorism is a global problem, India’s challenge is different, because Pakistan is openly making terrorism a part of its state policy. ‘ He said, “There are terrorist incidents in Europe too, but no neighboring country openly adopts terrorism as a state policy as Pakistan does.”
