Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan said on Sunday that many MPs and MLAs of Shiv Sena (UBT) were in touch with him and people do not trust Uddhav Thackeray’s leadership.
Mahajan, while talking to reporters in Solapur on Sunday, claimed, “Even today, many MLAs and MPs of the Uddhav Thackeray group are in touch with me.” “If you don’t believe me, you will see it for yourself very soon,” he was cited by the new agency PTI Are saying
Mahajan allegedly alleged that Thackeray was a “palatibahdar” (which makes a U-turn) and his conduct was immature amidst controversy over the implementation of three language policy in the state.
He further claimed that Uddhav Thackeray, in the desire to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from the ideology of his father (Shiv Sena) Bal Thackeray (in 2019) and ruined his political future.
Girish Mahajan’s comments came a day after Uddhav Thackeray and his cousin Raj Thackeray, who is the head of the Maharashtra Navneman Sena (MNS), shared the stage at a rally in Mumbai for the first time in almost two decades.
The event was held after the BJP -led ruling Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, which withdrew two government resolutions (GRS), in which Hindi introduced Hindi as the third language in state schools from class 1 to class 5.
‘Palatibahaddar’
Last month, announcing the return of two GRS, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis alleged that as the then Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray. The recommendations of Raghunath Mashelkar Committee had established a committee on class 1 to 12 to 12 to 12-language policy and policy implementation.
Uddhav Thackeray later claimed that he had appointed a study group on Mashelkar panel suggestions, but the group did not hold a single meeting.
Referring to the issue, Mahajan said, “It was Uddhav Thackeray’s own government which approved the decision to implement Hindi. The cabinet passed the resolution and had his signature in the file. Now he is opposing the great decisions that he had once supported. This is a clear U-turn.”
Calling Uddhav Thackeray a “Palatibahdar”, Mahajan claimed that his conduct was immature.
He said, “He has only changed his stand to oppose the present government.
Mahajan also accused Uddhav Thackeray of leaving his father Bal Thackeray’s ideology.
The BJP leader said, “He sidelined Balasaheb’s Hindutva to join hands with Sharad Pawar’s NCP and Congress (after the 2019 state assembly elections). In the desire to become the Chief Minister, he ruined his political future,” the BJP leader said that DBE PTI was spoken.
