After the death of Satish Shah, Sachin Pilgaonkar openly expressed his feelings on his last message, illness and deep friendship. The veteran actor told that late star Satish Shah had undergone kidney transplant to take care of his ailing wife Madhu.
New DelhiIn his four decade long career, Satish Shah had worked in popular films like ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’, ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’. He breathed his last today on the afternoon of 25th October at the age of 74. The actor’s health suddenly deteriorated at home, after which he was taken to Hinduja Hospital, where he died due to kidney failure.
Sachin-Satish had worked in 1 film
Sachin told that ‘Gammat Jammat’ was his first Marathi film in which he acted. We needed an excuse to work together. This was the same 1987 film. We never worked together after that, but we bonded very well as friends on the sets of that film. Satish, his wife Madhu, Supriya and I became very close. We used to meet at least two or three times a month. Satish and I never worked after Gambat Jammat but this did not affect our friendship.
Satish Shah was on dialysis
Sachin again said, ‘Satish and Madhu were always very lively and full of love. We made sure that we invited him to the premieres of all our films. He used to come to screenings and parties. He was always on our guest list. We couldn’t celebrate anything without them. And now I am wondering how we can celebrate the event without them! Unfortunately, Madhu is also not well. He has Alzheimer’s. This year, Satish got his kidney transplanted. He wanted to live longer to take care of his wife, so that he could take care of Madhu. He was on dialysis. Earlier, he had undergone bypass surgery, which was successful.
Sachit Pilgaonkar is in shock
Sachin told that Supriya had gone to meet Satish and Madhu three days ago. I couldn’t go because I was busy shooting. He played some music and Supriya and Madhu danced. Madhu remembered how she used to dance cha-cha-cha. Satish and I kept sending messages continuously. In fact, I got a message from him today at 12:56 pm, which means he was absolutely fine at that time. To say I am shocked would be an understatement. The industry has suffered losses and that is a different matter, but this is a huge personal loss for me. You really don’t know what’s ahead of you. You can’t predict anything. The point is to be happy and keep the people around you happy. This is what they did. You don’t know when your time will come?
