How much time does it take to burn a samosa or a slice of pizza?
Dr. Vora began her post by asking, “How much does it really take to burn off your favorite foods?” He then listed some of India’s most loved comfort foods and the time it takes to burn them off while walking.
“1 samosa or vada pav contains about 250 calories, which means about 50 minutes of walking,” he explained. “One slice of pizza is equivalent to about 285 calories, which takes about an hour to burn.”
How to burn Chole Bhature or Gulab Jamun
If you’re eating a pack of chips, which Dr. Vora said contains “about 300 calories,” you’ll need to walk more than an hour. For those with a sweet tooth, “1 gulab jamun has 180 calories, which means about a 35-minute walk.” And the heaviest indulgence on the list? “A plate of Chole Bhature has about 600 calories, you will have to walk for about 2 hours.”
However, Dr. Vora made sure to emphasize that fitness does not mean deprivation. “You don’t need to avoid these foods. Enjoy them occasionally and balance it with activity,” he wrote. “That’s how you stay fit without giving up what you love.”
