Passenger vehicles in India are seeing a rapid rise in prices in the last few months. Almost all car manufacturers in the country announced the price hike for their respective passenger vehicles in January 2025. Some of them announced a continuous price increase in next month in February 2025. Now, again, some major car manufacturers have announced another price hike for their respective PVs in India.
Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and Kia have already announced a price hike for their respective offerings in the country, which will be effective from the beginning of the next financial year, April 2025. Car manufacturers have cited price increase for rising input costs, increasing pricing of major raw materials and inflation. Earlier, these reasons were quoted by OEMs when they raised prices in January this year.

Maruti Suzuki announced in March 2025 that its passenger vehicles would increase the price of about four percent from next month. With this, Maruti Suzuki cars will be expensive from April this year. The car manufacturer has said that the price hike will be around four percent. However, OEM has not mentioned which model will receive how much increase and effective pricing post hike will be. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki increased the price of its cars by four percent in January and again in February between one and four percent, when the price hike between cars was observed. 1,500 and 32,500.
The cars of Tata Motors, including electric vehicles, have been slaughtered to achieve their second price hike of 2025. Homegron Auto Giants first increased the pricing of their cars in January. Now, passenger vehicles including Tata Motors’ electric vehicles will be expensive by three percent, the company has announced. The exact percentage of price hike in the model has not been clarified, but the auto company said that the boundary of the hike will be separated based on the model and variants.
Like Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors, Kia India has also announced a three percent price hike for its passenger vehicles sold in the country starting from April 1 this year. Currently, Kia provides models such as SONET, Carnival, Carrence, EV9, SELTOS, Syros and EV6 in India. The exact price of each model effective after the price hike will be declared close to 1 April.
