ISRO successfully performs the first rocket launch test with a satellite in Kushinagar, UP; Details here | Mint

Date:

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) conducted a rocket launching test successfully on Saturday, 14 June in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. This is a historic moment for the state as this was the first time a payload was introduced through a rocket from the state, the authorities inform PTI.

“The rocket was launched at 5:14 pm and 33 seconds, which went to a height of 1.1 km. Next, a small satellite (payload) came out. As soon as it fell to 5 meters, its parachute became active and the satellite landed within 400 meters on the ground.” PTI quoted ISRO scientist Abhishek Singh as saying.

The test was done in collaboration with Thrust Tech India Limited. During the rocket launch test, the spacecraft marked a complete success by climbing 1.1 km at 5:14:33 pm before setting the satellite. It is important to note that both satellite and 15 kg rockets securely landed.

The ISRO scientist stated that the latest rocket launch test is different from previous tests using drones in Ahmedabad, as this was the first time a satellite was launched directly using a rocket, which proved to be completely successful, said the ISRO scientist.

This test determines the stage for future satellite tests for October-November, where approximately the UND 900 young-made satellites will be tested.

The director of Thrust Tech India Vinod Kumar confirmed the success of the company’s motor test and said, “The event is being organized to generate interest in space technology among children across the field and all over India.”

Axiom-4 mission update

The space agency left the latest update on the Axiom -4 commercial mission with long postpones for the international space station and said in a post on X, “Falcon -9 lox is resolved by @Spacex @Axiom_Space with @nasa with @nasa.

This upcoming space mission is notable as it includes Indian astronaut Shubanshu Shukla who is one of its four crew members. According to an official release by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), a follow-on coordination meeting was held between ISRO, Axiom Space and Spacex, where it was confirmed that the issue of liquid oxygen leakage seen in Falcon 9 launched vehicle was successfully resolved.
