In Germany, the worlds of technology and food have come together. The country’s famous retail group REWE Region West has launched a new initiative ‘Fresh & Smart’, which has been launched in collaboration with AI and robotics company Circus. Under this initiative, customers will now be able to see fresh, restaurant-quality food being prepared by robots in the supermarket itself.
This first ‘Fresh & Smart’ store opened in Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf Heerdt) is the first such supermarket in the world, where a completely AI-enabled cooking robot – Circus CA-1 Series 4 is working. This robot prepares food without any human help, that too with the same quality and taste every time.
With the help of this new technology, customers can now get hot and fresh food for just €6 (about ₹ 550) in just a few minutes. More such stores are going to open in other cities of Germany in the coming weeks.
What is special in this technology
Circus’s CA-1 Series 4 is an advanced AI Robotics System that cooks food automatically. The system uses machine learning and predictive models to predict customer demand, use ingredients as needed, and reduce food waste. This entire process is not only efficient but is also better for the environment, as it reduces wastage of money.
Circus’s CA-1 robot is not only smart but also extremely fast. It has been designed in such a way that it can prepare large quantities of food even in a very small space. In an area of ​​just 7 square meters, this robot can make about 120 dishes every hour. This means that a plate of food is ready approximately every 30 seconds.
