Many Indians pursued their education abroad and later achieved remarkable international success in life. From Sundar Pichai to Indra Nuoi, many Indians have contributed significantly to their respective fields. Here are some of the most inspirational examples:
Beautiful Pichai – CEO of Google and Alphabet Inc.
Sundar Pichai was picked up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He earned his BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, followed by MS in Material Science from Stanford University and MBA from Wharton School. During his time in Wharton, Pichai was honored as a sebel scholar and a pilgrim scholar. Pichai joined Google in 2004, where he led the development of Google toolbar and later Google Chrome. He quickly climbed rank in Google and became its CEO in 2015. In 2019, he also took the role of CEO of Alphabet Inc., the original company of Google. Pichai was awarded the Padma Bhushan in the trade and industry category by the Government of India, the third largest civilian award in the country.
Satya Nadella – CEO and Chairman of Microsoft
Born in 1967, Satya Nadella completed her primary education at Hyderabad Public School, Begumpt. In 1988, he graduated from the Manipal Institute of Technology in Karnataka with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. He then studied further abroad, earning MS in Computer Science from Visconsin-Milvauki University in 1990. In 1997, he received an MBA from Chicago Booth School of Business University. Nadella was appointed as CEO of Microsoft in February 2014, which has been with the company for 22 years.
Shantinu Narayen – President, President and CEO of Adobe Inc.
Born in Hyderabad, Shantanu is the current CEO of Narayen Adobe. After completing his engineering study at the University of Osmania in India, he pushed his education in the United States, which became an important moment in his career. He received a master’s degree in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University and MBA from Has School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Narayen started her career in 1986 with a startup and later gained experience in Apple before joining Adobe in 1998. He co-established an early innovator Pictra Inc. in online photo sharing.
Vikram Pandit – Former CEO of Citigroup, CEO of Orajen Group
Born in Nagpur, Vikram Pandit earned his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, followed by MBA and Ph.D. In Finance from Columbia Business School. He has held the post of CEO in Citigroup and currently serves as the President and CEO of Ozan Group. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third largest civilian award in 2008.
Indra Nuoi – Former CEO of PepsiCo, Amazon and Board Members of ICC
Born in Chennai, Indra Nuy earned a master’s degree in public and private management from the Yale School of Management. For his studies in Yale, he worked as a receptionist. She went to lead PepsiCo for more than 12 years and now works in Amazon and International Cricket Council boards. She has been continuously recognized as one of the most powerful women in the world.
