New DelhiDigital transformation in India’s electoral system is no longer just a dream but is becoming a reality. In this direction, the Election Commission of India took a big step in May 2025 by launching an integrated digital platform named ECINET. The Chief Election Commissioner once again mentioned this app while announcing the dates of Bihar elections. It was used for the first time in the by-elections of West Bengal in June 2025. Its objective was to bring more than 40 old apps like Voter Helpline, cVIGIL and Suvidha 2.0 on one platform, so that the entire election system could be connected digitally. Till now more than 5.5 crore downloads of ECINET have been done.
Features of ECINET: One app, countless features
This app is not just a tool, but the digital engine of the entire electoral structure. For ordinary citizens, it has features like voter registration (adding new name from Form 6), checking name in voter list, location of polling station and real-time turnout trend. Users can also view voting data and KYC information of candidates updated every two hours.

For election officials, role-based access has been provided, that is, each user will see only that much data as per his role. In this, all the services like cVIGIL (complaints), Suvidha 2.0 (campaign permission) and ESMS (security management) have been unified. Data entry can be done only by authorized officials, and in case of any dispute the statutory forms are considered primary.
How to download ECINET?
This app can be downloaded from Google Play Store or App Store. Only mobile number and OTP verification is required for registration. Citizens get basic access and election officials get role-based access. Apart from this, tutorials like “ECINET App Kaise Use Kare” are also available on YouTube, which are proving helpful for new users.
