How to make Diya at home: As soon as the festive season starts, an atmosphere of cleaning, preparation and worship is created in every house. Everyone wants their house to be filled with light and happiness, but in today’s busy life, many times we forget to light a lamp daily. Between the morning rush, children’s studies and office work, many times it seems that it is difficult to find time for worship. In such a situation, this DIY trick is going to be very useful for you, because with this you can make such lamps from ghee and camphor at home, which once prepared, can be used for the whole month. No tension of filling ghee every day, no hassle of making lights, just one match stick and the house will light up in a few seconds.
- For this amazing trick you need some very simple things which are found in every house-
- Two candles (or any old candle)
- 10-15 camphor tikkis
- cow ghee or dalda
- Some earthen lamps, ice trays or old bottle caps
First of all, prepare a double boiler i.e. pour some water in a pan and place a small vessel in it. Now put the candle in that vessel and let it melt. When the candle melts completely, add camphor in it and turn off the gas. The camphor will dissolve on its own in its heat and its aroma will be absorbed into the mixture.
Now add a bowl of ghee in it. The combination of candle and ghee will give the perfect shape to this lamp. If you add only ghee, it will not set properly, hence a little wax is necessary.
easy way to make wick
If you have ready made wicks then it is fine, otherwise home made cotton wicks will also work. When the mixture starts to cool down a bit (after about 5-10 minutes), then put the flame in the middle. If you put it in very hot ghee, it will float, so it would be better to add it after it settles a little. This keeps the lamp straight and also looks beautiful.
method of setting in mold
Now put this mixture in any mold, be it silicone tray, ice tray or old clay lamp. If you want to set it quickly, keep it in the refrigerator. It will be completely set in some time. After freezing you can easily remove them. These lamps look so beautiful that many times people mistake them for decorative candles.

Storage and usage method
When all the lamps are set, keep them in an airtight box. If you light a lamp every morning and evening, it will last for about one and a half months. Their biggest advantage is that they burn for a long time without spreading ghee and without any dirt.
Benefits of lighting ghee lamps
- 1. Positive energy remains in the house.
- 2. The fragrance of camphor purifies the environment.
- 3. Concentration increases in the minds of children.
- 4. There is peace and familiarity in the house.
- 5. The mind remains stable during worship and meditation.
Little hard work, great peace
It hardly takes half an hour to make these lamps, but the benefits last for months. When you light this ghee lamp in the morning or evening, not only will the light in the house increase but the mind will also become calm. During the festive season, this DIY trick will not only enhance the beauty of your home but will also give peace to your heart.
