Ever since Netflix announced the return of the Emmy-winning series Delhi Crime for Season 3, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the acclaimed show, starring Shefali Shah playing the role of no-nonsense DCP Vartika Chaturvedi.
After the success of Seasons 1 and 2, expectations are high for Season 3. On Tuesday, Netflix unveiled the much-awaited trailer of the new season, which gave viewers a glimpse of the serious human trafficking crime case that will be under investigation by Vartika’s team.
about the trailer
The trailer starts with Vartika explaining that her team has found a consignment of 30 young girls who were being trafficked to Delhi. She adds, “We must investigate.” As the investigation progresses, her team discovers an extensive network of similar cases spread across several major cities, becoming more sensitive with each passing day.
Meanwhile, the trailer also gives a glimpse of Huma Qureshi’s ‘Badi Didi’ as the mastermind behind the large-scale operation who learns that a police investigation is underway, setting the stage for a psychological face-off between the two women who refuse to give up. As the walls get closer, the Delhi Police team will have to cross boundaries and work together to solve a case that transcends jurisdiction, time and reason. It’s a race against time. Will we get justice?
Produced by Golden Caravan and SK Global Entertainment, the show is directed by Tanuj Chopra and also stars Sayani Gupta, Meeta Vashishtha, Anshuman Pushkar and Kelly Dorjee in impactful roles.
Describing Season 3, showrunner Tanuj Chopra shared, “With Season 3, we wanted to tell a story that feels both urgent and deeply human. Each season stands on its own. Whether you’re a repeat fan of the show or have never seen a single episode, this season will be just as compelling for both. You can jump straight into Season 3 without watching the first two to fully enjoy the show, or pick up where you left off last time.” We can continue from where we left off. This time, the stakes are high, unlike anything Vartika has faced, every lead, every dead end, takes her and her team closer to the breaking point, but what defines it is empathy, truth and a relentless pursuit of justice.
