The ‘Cosmic Orange’ color of Apple’s new iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max became quite popular among the people at the time of its launch. But now many users on social media have complained that their phone has gradually become pinkish in color. Many such photos are going viral on Twitter and Reddit, which has increased the concern among the users.

According to reports from Tom’s Guide, this time anodised aluminum finish has been used in the iPhone 17 Pro series, which is different from the previous Pro models with titanium build. This new finish helps in giving shiny and unique color, but it also has a drawback. This metal is more porous. This means that the color layer penetrates the interior during manufacturing, but over time it can react with external chemicals.

One report suggested that chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide, which are often found in cosmetic products, cleaning sprays or disinfectants, can discolor or change the color of anodised aluminium.

Therefore, it is believed that the orange color of some iPhone 17 Pro devices is changing to pink due to contact with these products.

Apple told the right way of cleaning
Apple has already warned users on its support website not to clean their devices with any product that contains bleach or hydrogen peroxide.

Instead, the company suggests using 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes or 75% ethyl alcohol wipes. Also, do not allow moisture to enter any port or opening of the phone and never clean the device by immersing it in any liquid.

What did Apple say?
Till now, there has been no official statement from Apple on the problem of this pink discolouration. Experts say that until the company provides any update, users should keep their phone away from strong chemicals, skin care products or household cleaners so that its color and finish does not get spoiled.
