CLAT 2026 registration deadline for UG, PG courses extended till November 7

CLAT 2026 registration now ends on November 7. Earlier, the last date to apply was October 31. Students can apply by visiting the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

The registration deadline for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 has been extended. Eligible and interested candidates can now apply till 7th November. The previous last date was 31 October. To apply, visit the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

This examination is important for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs in 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) and other participating universities. It will take place in offline, written format on December 7, 2025.

The official notice read, “The Executive Council of the Consortium of National Law Universities is pleased to announce the extension of the last date for submission of CLAT 2026 online applications (for both UG and PG programmes). Please note that the new last date for submission of online applications has been extended till 23:59 hrs of November 7 (Friday), 2025.”

To register, candidates will need a recent passport size photograph, their signature, category certificate (if applicable), PWD certificate (if applicable), and domicile certificate (if applicable).

CLAT 2026: Application Fee

The application fee is Rs 4000 for General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO and OCI candidates and Rs 3500 for SC and ST candidates.

CLAT 2026: Eligibility Criteria

For UG programme, candidates must have passed 10+2 (Class 12) or equivalent examination with at least 45 per cent marks (40 per cent for reserved categories).

For PG programme, candidates must have LLB degree with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for reserved categories). There is no age limit. Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination in March/April next year are also eligible to apply.

Steps to register for CLAT 2026

1. Visit the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in

2. Register by providing the required details and verify through an OTP.

3. Complete the registration by uploading the required documents.

4. Pay the application fee.

5. Submit the form and print the confirmation page.

To qualify the UG exam, students have to answer 120 questions in five sections: English Language, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. Students will have two hours to complete the exam.
