Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Announced on Thursday that the examinations for both classes 10th and 12th in 2026 will start from 17.02.2026.

In 2026, CBSE will conduct two board exams for class X as per the recommendations made in NEP-2020.

This is what CBSE said

For the first time, the datesheet has been released about 110 days before the commencement of the examination. This was possible due to timely submission of LOC by the schools.

Early release of datesheet will have the following benefits:-

Students will be able to start their exam preparation in advance, which will help them overcome exam anxiety and improve their performance in the exam.

CBSE said in an official release, “To ensure that students do not have JEE (Main) and CBSE examinations simultaneously, NTA will be required to fill the class XI registration number of the student in the JEE (Main) application. Accordingly, all schools are requested to provide the class XI registration number of their students applying for JEE (Main).”

To ensure that the two subject examinations given by a student do not fall on the same date, the date sheet has been prepared avoiding more than 40,000 subject combinations. CBSE said in an official release that the start time of the examinations will be 10.30 am (IST).

CBSE forms panel to develop AI curriculum for schools

According to PTI report, officials said CBSE has constituted an expert committee headed by an IIT Madras professor to develop the curriculum for Artificial Intelligence and Computational Thinking (AI and CT).

The move follows plans to introduce AI curriculum in all schools from Class 3 onwards by 2026-27.

School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar said, “A stakeholder consultation was held on Wednesday, bringing together expert bodies including CBSE, NCERT, KVS, NVS and external experts. CBSE has constituted an expert committee under the chairmanship of Professor Karthik Raman, Department of Data Science and AI, IIT Madras, to develop the AI ​​and CT curriculum.”

Currently, over 18,000 CBSE schools offer AI as a skill subject from Class 6 through 15-hour modules, while Classes 9-12 have it as an optional subject, as reported by PTI.
