Apple has removed two popular dating apps Tea and TeaOnHer from its App Store. The company said that these apps were violating the privacy and security rules of the users.
Apple recently removed two dating apps, Tea and TeaOnHer, from its App Store. Both these apps were becoming quite popular for some time, but due to user complaints and serious concerns related to privacy, Apple has decided to remove them from the platform. Usually, the company removes an app only when it is found to be in violation of security, privacy or any legal rule.
For this reason, many times personal information of users, even information related to minors, has been exposed, which is a direct violation of American privacy rules.
Apple told Tech Crunch on this matter that both the apps have violated the moderation, user privacy and policy of the App Store. The company has immediately removed these apps considering them a safety risk.
Interestingly, both these apps are still available on Android’s Play Store, which makes it clear that Apple has taken this step independently based on its security standards.
At the same time, the developers of these apps have expressed their displeasure over this decision of Apple. He says that he followed all the security guidelines and even contacted the company, yet his apps were removed without warning. This incident is also a big lesson for other developers that Apple never compromises with the security and privacy of users on the App Store.
