He defended the participation of his army as the use of sovereign rights of the country. Pyongyang’s government media gave this information on Saturday. Kim made this comment during a visit to the Russian Embassy in Pyongyang on Friday, where he went on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s Nazi Germany in the Second World War, which is known as Victory Day.
Yonhap has given this information quoting the Government Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) as saying. Citing the Defense Treaty with Russia last year, Kim said that he had ordered North Korean soldiers to be sent to Russia to free the Kursk Front-Line area, as they were adamant on fully implemented the treaty. Kim said in his speech, “Our participation in war was appropriate and it is under the purview of our sovereign rights.”
15,000 soldiers sent to Russia
He described North Korean soldiers involved in the war against Ukraine as heroes. Last month, North Korea first admitted that it had sent soldiers to fight against Ukraine along with Russia. According to Seoul’s detective agency, North Korea has so far sent around 15,000 soldiers to Russia and has suffered more than 4,700 casualties, of which around 600 have died.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un claimed that Ukraine had attacked the territory of Russia. He said that if the US and its allies try to attack any other attack against Russia, they will not hesitate to use North Korea’s military strength.
Reason told to send army
Kim said, ‘If we ignore military action on the region of a country with nuclear power like Russia of Ukraine, they will become more careless. With this, Seoul’s army, which is the biggest puppet of America, will also show its careless courage. Russia celebrated the 80th anniversary of Victory Day with a military parade on Friday, which included foreign leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping. Kim was expected to attend the ceremony, but he did not go to Moscow for security and logistic reasons.
