The Government of India on Sunday released a set of paintings depicted to group captain Shubanshu Shukla, observing the Earth from the International Space Station. He became the first Indian to live at the station.
In pictures shared online, Shukla is seen sitting on the edge of the 7-Windowed Cupola module on ISS with the Earth seen in the background.
“Staring down from space! Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla enjoyed the surprising panoramic view of the Earth with a 7-window module at the international space station. It has been a remarkable journey as he marks in a week-long or a week, represents India among the stars,” Caption reads.
Earlier on 26 June, Shukla and three other crew members docked with ISS after a 28 -hour visit around the Earth. According to the description, Shukla is on the 14-day scientific campaign as part of the Axiom-4 mission on ISS, along with three other astronauts and led by experienced astronaut Pagi Whitson. Shukla is the second Indian to go into space.
To interact with school students at Nesac:
On Tuesday, Shukla has been determined to interact with the students of the school at ISRO’s North East Space Application Center (NESAC) from its orbital post on ISS through Ham Radio.
At the International Space Station (Ariss), Amateur Radio said that negotiations are planned through a telebridge installed NESAC at Shillong.
Earlier on Friday, Shukla interacted with students at Ur Rao Satellite Center in Bangalore.
Exciting to see Earth from ISS:
On June 4, Shubhanshu Shukla recalled ‘Mango Raas’, ‘Carrot Ka Halwa’, ‘Moong Dal Halwa’ and dishes from other countries after riding on the Orbital Lab.
In a brief conversation with scientists in URSC, Bangalore on HAM radio connections, Shukla said, “It was a good moment. We got food from different countries and got it to share it with all crews.”
